Willian believes that Chelsea star man this season Tammy Abraham will ease the pain of losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.
Eden Hazard left Chelsea for Madrid in a €100 million (£88m/$112m) deal last summer after scoring 21 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions last season for the Blues.
His absence raised concerns on how Chelsea would cope with the Belgian who was key to the side’s attacking successes in previous seasons.
However, Tammy Abraham has eased fears thus far by scoring 7 goals in the last 3 Premier League games and can establish himself as the Blues’ main attacker. He’ll be looking to add more goals to his name when Chelsea face Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
In a chat with Goal when asked about Chelsea’s attacking prowess, the Brazilian said: “I think Hazard’s exit was a big loss,”
“Eden is a player that can make the difference, but I think we have players that can continue to make the difference as well.
“Abraham is playing well at the moment. He is scoring lots of goals and I am very happy for him.
“The young players are doing well. They can improve a lot. I think Chelsea is Chelsea. No matter the players we have, we have to fight until the end in every competition. That’s what we want to do this season.”
Willian lost two close friends at Chelsea with the departures of Eden Hazard and David Luiz. Although Hazard’s departure was expected, David Luiz’ move to Arsenal was a shocker to Willian.
“We lost some great players. David Luiz and Hazard,” the Brazilian added.
“I am happy for Eden because it was his dream to go there. I hope he continues doing the same magic he did here. I think that he will be successful. I sure hope so.
“David and I are very close. We are very good friends. He is one of the best friends that I have in football. It is strange to see him wearing red, but we are friends.
“Now we have to play against each other and I have to do something against him. Yes, of course I will celebrate hard if I score against Arsenal”
