Lokomotiv Moscow vs Atletico Madrid The Ghanaian excelled against Lokomotiv
Thomas Partey was Atletico Madrid‘s best player on the pitch in their 2-0 win against Lokomotiv Moscow on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian produced an extraordinary performance for the second game in a row, following his excellent display in the derby against Real Madrid last Saturday.
Joao Felix played between the lines behind Alvaro Morata and Diego Costa and managed to score his team’s first goal, while he also assisted the second as well as helping his teammates in defence.
Jose Gimenez and Felipe Monteiro have to be Atletico‘s duo at centre-backs as they proved with their performance in Russia, where they were quick, solid and effective.
Santiago Arias waited for his opportunity and in Kieran Trippier‘s absence, he had a very balanced game, complying both with his defensive and attacking duties.
Thomas‘ performance against Lokomotiv was excellent. He recovered the ball, distributed it to his teammates, participated in attack and finally scored Atletico‘s second goal.
Jan Oblak had a quiet night until the 70th minute, when he had to intervene twice to pull off a great double save with the score at 2-0.
Although he missed a chance to score in the first half, Diego Costa continued trying throughout the game and gave an unselfish assist to Thomas for Atletico‘s second goal.
