Barcelona Discussed the Dembele red card
Ousmane Dembele’s red card was one of the talking points of the weekend as the Frenchman was dismissed by Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz towards the end of Barcelona‘s 4-0 victory over Sevilla.
According to the referee report, Dembele criticised the referee’s performance and this was the reason for his red card.
He is believed to have said “very bad, you’re very bad” and there is a debate going on because some, like former Barcelona captain Tente Sanchez, believe there is inconsistency.
“Dembele made a mistake, but referees make mistakes too,” he told Radio MARCA.
“If they always acted the same then I’d be in agreement.
“But the problem is that Mateu Lahoz doesn’t always act the same.
“He knows who to send off and who not to send off for the same thing.”
Tente Sanchez was also asked what would have happened had there been VAR during his playing days.
“I’m sure we’d have won another league title,” he said.
“There’s no doubt that they refereed us differently to Real Madrid back then.”
