Andriy Shevchenko has denied being contacted over the Milan job, even if he’ll meet Paolo Maldini soon.

Marco Giampaolo’s tenure has so far been a complete disaster as the Rossoneri lost 4 of their first 6 games while playing absolutely atrocious football.

There have been rumours that Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban are thinking of sacking Giampaolo and entrusting the team in the hands of Andriy Shevchenko, the current Ukraine NT coach.

“I love Milan, but the club has not contacted me and on a professional level I’m not thinking about Milan right now,” Sheva told La Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday. “I am the Coach of Ukraine and all my effort is focused on my country. I want to go to Euro 2020 with my players. Having said all that, Maldini and Boban are a real guarantee for Milan, who will get back on their feet soon.

I am here in Milano at the moment, it’s true, but that’s because I am watching the Ukraine players and after the Atalanta game, I’ll go to dinner with my Milan friends, but only because we love each other and every time we are together we meet.

“Milan remains in my heart and I am sure they’ll work it out soon.”
