It looks like Los Blancos have it all to do to reach the knockout stages of the competition they have won 13 times in the past.
However, Real Madrid won their 12th and 13th European titles without topping their group at the start of the competition, so there is hope yet.
In a season that ended with Real Madrid lifting the Champions League trophy in Cardiff, they began the campaign in a group with Borussia Dortmund, Legia Warsaw and Sporting CP.
After finishing second to Dortmund, Los Blancos beat Napoli, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and then Juventus in the final to clinch No.12.
Tottenham Hotspur‘s 3-1 win over Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium during the 2017/18 group stages propelled them to top of the group ahead of Los Blancos.
Real Madrid progressed in second and knocked out Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich before beating Liverpool in the Kiev final.
