Barcelona Novelist implied it took too long
Barcelona have decided to rescind the honorary distinctions they had given to General Francisco Franco, almost half a century after his death.
The first of these was awarded in 1951, the second in 1971 and the last in 1974, before he died in 1975.
February 11, 2019 saw the board meet and decide to withdraw the decorations, which has now been approved by the partners.
However, renowned Spanish novelist Arturo Perez-Reverte, sarcastically praised Barcelona, hinting that it took too long for them to revoke the medals.
“44 years after his death, Barcelona withdraw the medals from Franco. That’s how I like it, that shows balls.”
44 aos despus de su muerte, el Bara le retira las medallas a Franco. As me gusta, que le echen cojones.
