Barcelona vs Inter: Messi returns again to jump-start the season

Barcelona Included in the squad for Wednesday’s game

It has been a very mixed start to the 2019/20 season for Barcelona, who have been struggling to string multiple positive results together in a row and who’ll be determined to defeat Inter on Wednesday night to make it three wins from three for the first time this season.

Lionel Messi is back again, after briefly returning and then breaking down with injury again last midweek against Villarreal.

He has yet to complete a 90 minutes this season, but is in the squad list for this Champions League clash against Inter and that alone is a major boost for the team.

“We won’t be taking any risks,” Ernesto Valverde warned and this means it’s not certain that Messi or the also-just-back-from-injury Ousmane Dembele will start, meaning there could be further minutes for Carles Perez.

Ansu Fati definitely won’t be featuring as he is injured, as are Samuel Umtiti and Jordi Alba.

Up against Barcelona are an Inter side who have been dominant so far in Serie A, although they did draw their opening Champions League match against Slavia Prague to make this a wide open group, as well as the group of death.
