Packaging: The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Cream Green Tea comes in a light green tub that is quite big in size. the packaging seems to be made of plastic, but it doesn’t look or feel flimsy. Also, it is quite sturdy, and the cream doesn’t seem to leak from it. The tub is big but can be easily travelled with since it would easily fit into any purse or bag.
Fragrance: The product says that it is a green tea cleansing cream, but it nowhere smells near to green tea. In fact, it smells like it has some chemicals inside. This is strange because people who have sensitive skin or are allergic to artificial fragrances may not be able to use it.
Colour: It is whitish green in colour and has tiny mint green coloured beads in it that burst when I massage my face with it.
Consistency: The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Cream Green Tea has a creamy consistency, but it changes to oil when I massage my face with it to remove makeup. Also, after massaging when I add a few drops of water, it emulsifies and feels like I’m washing my face with oil. I can’t leave it as it and wash it off with water because it feels to oily on my skin. I immediately need to wash my face with a foamy cleanser to get rid of the residual makeup and the cream.
Quantity and price: The tub comes in a large quantity of 150ml and is priced at ₹390. It is much cheaper compared to the other oil-based cleansers and can be used on a day to day basis. Also, I need only a little quantity to melt my makeup down and it thoroughly cleanses my skin.
My overall thoughts:
I have mixed thoughts about this cleanser to be honest. It removes my heavy-duty makeup and cleanses my skin well, but when I rinse it off with plain water, my face feels sticky and oily. I have to use another cleanser, and this cannot be used on its own. Also, it smells weird and mildly of chemicals which I’m surprised to know because The Face Shop has been one of my favourite brands when it comes to Korean skincare.
But this particular product smells weird and leaves my skin feeling so oily once I clean my face with it. Also, it doesn’t emulsify much. You can give it a try if you are on a budget and are looking for cheaper oil-based cleansers.
