Barcelona Set to reach 200 games
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is set to play his 200th game for Barcelona on Sunday against Sevilla at the Camp Nou.
Andoni Zubizarreta with 383 matches and Victor Valdes with 536 are the only goalkeepers who have featured in more games for the Blaugrana than the 27-year-old.
Ter Stegen will celebrate that milestone for the Catalan side a couple of days after Germany coach Joachim Low confirmed that he will start in the friendly game against Argentina.
The former Borussia Monchengladbach shot-stopper kicked off his career at Barcelona as second-choice goalkeeper in LaLiga Santander, although he started in their Champions League and Copa del Rey games.
His competition with Claudio Bravo for a spot between the goalposts led to the Costa Rican’s departure to Manchester City in 2016.
Since then, the German has become a regular member of Barcelona‘s starting line-up and his performances have granted him a slot in the first eleven.
In his five years at the Catalan side he has won four LaLiga Santander titles, another four Copa del Rey trophies, two Supercopa De Espana, one European Super Cup, a Club World Cup and the Champions League in 2015.
