Sevilla Are fifth in the list
Julen Lopetegui‘s Sevilla have been criticised for their lack of clinical edge this season, but it not been without a want of trying.
The Andalusians currently sit sixth in the LaLiga Santander table, having scored 10 goals from their opening eight games.
Now, data provided by LaLiga from the first eight games shows that Sevilla have attempted the fifth most shots, only behind Real Madrid‘s 52, Villarreal‘s 47, Barcelona‘s 42 and Leganes‘ 40.
Sevilla have recorded 38 shots, but what is evident is that they are missing the goalscoring ability of Wissam Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia, especially when Luuk de Jong has thus far failed to get off the mark at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Regardless, there is a confidence at Sevilla that De Jong will soon start to find the back of the net and replicate the form he showed back in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven.
