Portugal He is struggling in Portugal
Raul de Tomas has been on the end of some harsh media criticism while playing for Benfica.
The striker signed for the Portuguese giants from Real Madrid this summer for 20 million euros, but is yet to make a major impact with his new club.
De Tomas started Benfica‘s Taca de Portugal tie away at Cova da Piedade on Friday night, but didn’t score in the 4-0 win.
Brazilian striker Vinicius, who joined from Napoli in the summer, is taking advantage of the opportunities he’s being given.
He scored twice during the victory, underlining De Tomas‘ struggles in front of goal even further.
“De Tomas 0, Vinicius 2,” was the headline on O Jogo’s front page on Saturday.
