Tony Cascarino has suggested four managers that could replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

The Norwegian has found himself under immense pressure after losing 1-0 to Newcastle United on Sunday after Matty Longstaff scored the only goal of the game.

United boss Solskjaer was left facing more questions following an 11th successive game without an away win which leaves his side in 12th place – just two points above the bottom three.

Reports on Tuesday claim that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is losing patience, while Solskjaer reportedly told his players he fears the sack in the dressing room at St James’ Park.

“The most exciting prospect in England is Eddie Howe, who delivers a great style of football at Bournemouth,” Cascarino wrote in The Times.

“Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves is attack-minded and forward-thinking.

“I like Thomas Tuchel at Paris Saint-Germain. Lucien Favre’s Borussia Dortmund play the way United fans expect of their team.”

On the possibility of Mauricio Pochettino, Cascarino added: “I am not convinced he is a ready-made Manchester United manager.”
