Pundit fumes at ‘aggressive’ Jurgen Klopp for post-match interview

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has taken issue with the post-match interview given by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Saturday, saying that the German seemed “very aggressive”.

Klopp was left angry after his side’s dramatic 2-1 win over Leicester City following a challenge by Hamza Choudhury on Mohamed Salah that led to the Egyptian forward limping from the field late on.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan said he had noticed that Klopp had become more arrogant in recent weeks and questioned why the Liverpool manager wasn’t angry at Trent Alexander-Arnold for a rash challenge by the Englishman.

“Is [Klopp] becoming infected by the disease of arrogance?,” the former chairman asked.  “I’ve noticed a slight change in Jurgen Klopp, in the language and robustness of his position.

“I thought his post-match interview was very brusque and irritable – and I know that journalists can drive you mad with ridiculous questions – in his explanation of Salah and what happened to him.

“I didn’t see him complain about what Trent Alexander-Arnold had done to molest a player by dragging his studs down the back of his Achilles. He was very aggressive and on the front foot about what happened to Salah.”

Scans on the ankle injury suffered by Salah have reportedly showed “no major” issues for the attacker.
