Even when he’s fit Jack Wilshere can’t seem to get a game.
The 27-year-old, who feels like he’s been around the game for an eternity (since 2008 to be precise), joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer of 2018 but has since struggled to establish a place at the London Stadium for one reason or another.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side currently sit in eighth and favour a 4-1-4-1 formation, having played it in seven out of eight games, with Mark Noble, Declan Rice and either Pablo Fornals or Manuel Lanzini occupying the central spots.
“I want to be playing, but I understand as well that I’ve come back from a long injury,” Wilshere told Sky Sports.

He has missed a total of 30 games since joining the Hammers and has recently returned from a stint on the sideline that saw him out of action for an estimated 124 days.
It’s times like these when you really need your friends for support, and fortunately for Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks is by his side to tell him that his style isn’t up to par.
That’s what mates are for.
