[affiliatelink] When I found myself in Manchester last week with no mascara, I pulled the most interesting looking one from the shelf at Boots at Piccadilly station. I think L’Oreal Paris Unlimited Mascara came out last year but somehow it passed me by. The USP of this particular mascara is that it has a properly bendable wand.
It’s also got a short wand which I really like – they’re better if you need to get very close to your mirror to apply. The brush is the sort of spiky applicator I prefer over the fat fluffy brushes.
The bend mechanic is in the applicator lid and it works so well! The bend shortens the brush even more so I feel it might be good for anyone with co-ordination issues or who finds long wafty wands difficult to manage. In terms of activating the bend, it’s a simple twist of the bit you can see where the brush is resting (I’m sure there is a technical term for it but damned if I know it!) so it’s not too fiddly – good for people who find grip and fine motor acts tricky.
If you don’t struggle with regular mascaras, then there’s no real benefit to the bend other than allowing closer application. I found that it over-delivered on the first coating but it’s new so perhaps that’s to be expected – it’s definitely my kind of brush, the mascara gives a beautifully dark black finish and it lasted well. I don’t think it’s quite excellent enough that I’d re-purchase but I’ll definitely finish it up. Actually, I bought it along with the new L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation and got a box of products worth £40 which was a nice surprise – I’ll feature both later in the week. For now, L’Oreal Paris Unlimited Mascara is £9.99 HERE, non affiliate HERE.
