Barcelona Also spoke about Dembele’s red card
Clement Lenglet has come out in support of Antoine Griezmann and has rubbished claimed that the forward is struggling to settle in at Barcelona.
The defender spoke about his fellow Frenchman and claimed he has been a welcome addition to the dressing room.
“We laugh all day long,” Lenglet said of Griezmann at a media appearance with the French national team.
“He likes to make jokes and he hasn’t changed at Barcelona.
“We need to understand that he is going through a positional change on the pitch and he has moved to the wing.
“He is working a lot for the team and that helps us, thanks to his talent and sacrifice.
“For me, there is no issue with Griezmann.”
Lenglet spoke about another of his French colleagues at Barcelona, insisting that Ousmane Dembele simply needs a run of games in the side to get back to his best.
“I think he has all the qualities necessary to be back in the France squad, if he can get a consistent run,” the defender said.
“He prepared really well, but got injured again.
“Now he has been shown a red card and that’ll halt him as well.
“He is a player with huge talent, but he needs a consistent run to give the best of himself.”
Finally, he discussed Lionel Messi and the Argentine’s return.
“He is an extraordinary player and makes a difference,” he said of Messi.
“He is really intelligent when it comes to protecting the ball.
“I suffer against him every day in training, but I’m really happy he’s on my side at the weekends.”
