Vinicius hasn’t managed to make himself a fixed part of Zinedine Zidane‘s plans at Real Madrid and the Brazilian was left out against Granada to make space for Rodrygo.
Zidane has requested that he not be asked about a lack of trust in the Brazilian, but the reality is that the player has only played 313 of the 900 minutes Real Madrid have had this season.
The club expected the youngster to have contributed more by now, but he’s yet to earn Zidane‘s complete confidence.
This time last year Vinicius had barely been seen by the first team, playing just 12 minutes.
But his subsequent explosion brought excitement in a dark time for Los Blancos.
Now, though, he hasn’t played a minute in the last two rounds of LaLiga Santander, and watched on from the stands on Saturday.
Zidane works with Vinicius every day at Valdebebas, but he’s not been able to find a way to get him into his team, which says more than the coach ever would about how much, or little, he trusts him.
