Liga NOS By the Players Association
Iker Casillas has collected the award for being the best goalkeeper in Liga NOS in the 2018/19 season, an honour given out by the league’s Players Association.
Although Porto, Casillas‘ club, failed to win the title, the Spaniard conceded the least amount of goals in the division and that has seen him named as the Liga NOS‘ best goalkeeper for last season.
The Players Association is made up of 314 players, and Casillas himself was honoured to have received the award.
“Thank you very much to my teammates for this trophy of being the best goalkeeper last season,” Casillas said.
“It’s an honour to be able to receive this award.
“I hope it’s not the last one and that many more arrive.
“I am very happy and grateful to my teammates for this achievement.”

It is worth remembering that Casillas is not involved in the day-to-day training with his Porto teammates after suffering a heart attack last May, so he is currently working as a liaison between the coaching staff and the directors.
