Premier League Defended the player
Bernardo Silva was officially charged with inappropriate behaviour by the FA on Wednesday after his racially insensitive tweet to Benjamin Mendy and Pep Guardiola could also face punishment.
Guardiola defended the Portuguese afterwards, but the player could still face a six-match ban.
“Bernardo is one of the most charming people I’ve ever met,” Guardiola said.
“He speaks four or five languages and that’s the best way to understand his open mind.
“Mendy is one of his best friends, he’s like his brother. The picture doesn’t refer to the colour of his skin.
“He took a picture of Benjamin from when he was young and it was quite similar.”
Now, the FA are investigating the coach’s words and he too could face disciplinary action.
