Real Madrid The midfielder was excellent in the Granada win
Of all the players on the pitch as Real Madrid earned a 4-2 victory over Granada, Fede Valverde was the one who again stole the show with his desire, physicality, directness and overall power.
The Uruguayan showed his ball-winning and creative abilities to set up Eden Hazard for the second, but also did much more throughout the match and had a key role in Luka Modric‘s third too.
“I’m happy for him,” Zinedine Zidane said of the midfielder afterwards.
“He’s very good and he’s always shown that.
“He’s a modern player who always moves forward and wants the ball and he’s been key for two goals today.”
Valverde was excellent and analysed his performance afterwards.
“It’s a plus to contribute what I can and I always try my best,” he himself said.
“I’ll always run until my legs burst.
“Today we played well, the coach gives me confidence and I feel calm and happy.”
From start to finish, he kept the ball well and looked towards goal when he had it, while he retreated to defend when Real Madrid were without it.
Valverde looks the complete package for Real Madrid, and he’s exactly what the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu want to see.
His emergence is the best piece of news Real Madrid have had for some time.
