Manchester United are planning an ambitious players-plus-cash offer for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kross, while Tottenham have named the price clubs must pay to sign Christian Eriksen in January – all in Friday’s European papers.
MAN UTD PLANNING TONI KROOS SWAP DEAL
Manchester United are prepared to splash out €75m to bring Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos to the club in January, according to reports.
The 29-year-old, who moved to Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014, recently put pen to paper on fresh terms in the Spanish capital and he has began the season with one goal and two assists in 10 appearances so far.
Despite Kroos being tied down until 2023 following his contract extension, the midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past and Don Balon claims that the Red Devils have not given up the chase for his signature.
In fact, the source says that United are willing to pay €75m to sign Kroos in January and are willing to let Paul Pogba go the other way, with Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane’s admiration for the Frenchman still strong.
Don Balon adds that along with the transfer fee, United believe they can tempt Kroos to seek pastures new by allowing him to be the leader in a squad that has often lacked such skills in recent weeks.
Kroos has scored 14 goals and assisted 43 others for Madrid in 243 games for the club to date.
