Real Madrid Zidane’s DNA runs deep at Real Madrid
The count of Zidanes to have trained with Real Madrid‘s first team has increased to four after Theo Zidane worked with the squad at Valdebebas on Friday morning.
Zinedine spent five seasons at the club before three of his children, Enzo, Luca and now Theo, have all had at least one session with the first team.
Theo, currently a Juvenil A player, was called up to the first team due to the absences of James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez and Brahim Diaz, as well as the internationals.
Enzo Zidane first appeared under Jose Mourinho in 2011 at 16, with his father as a mere spectator. It was his dad, though, who handed him his debut in 2016/17.
Luca, the goalkeeper, also started young with the first team as Carlo Ancelotti called him up for work, with Zinedine as his assistant. Again, it was his father who handed him his debut in 2017/18 against Villarreal.
Now it’s time for Theo, who is 17. He’s older than his brothers were for their first sessions, but he’ll be hoping to follow the trend of being handed a debut by his father.
