Luuk de Jong missed several chances to open the scoring in Sevilla‘s game against Barcelona on Sunday, before the Blaugrana scored three goals in eight minutes to kick off their path to a 4-0 victory.

The Dutch striker hasn’t been able to come to terms with his inefficiency in front of Marc-Andre ter Stegen‘s goal in the first part of the game.

“The chance I had when it was 0-0 goes in nine out of 10 times,” De Jong said while on Netherlands duty.

“I asked myself, as I was awake, how can it not be a goal?

“I know that a striker is judged by his goals in the end.

“I am realistic, but the coach sees me as a disruptive leader, someone to push up.”

De Jong had a sleepless night after what happened in Barcelona, but still has the backing of his coaches at both club and international level.
