LaLiga The former goalkeeper has been outspoken
Former Valencia goalkeeper Santiago Canizares has accused Los Che president Anil Murthy of calling off an event of which the benefits were to be devoted to childhood cancer research.
A campaign with the Telefonica Foundation, arranged through Movistar, was scheduled but has since been cancelled.
“Murthy has cancelled a project with Valencia to fight childhood cancer because of my criticisms of the club,” Canizares told Cope’s El Partidazo.
“Anil Murthy ha cancelado un proyecto que tena cerrado con el @valenciacf para combatir el cncer infantil por mis crticas al club”
“El proyecto lo vamos a llevar a cabo con el @realmadrid, que ha cogido el testigo”

The ex-goalkeeper did continue to explain though that the project will go ahead but now in association with Real Madrid, with whom contact was made after Valencia‘s cancellation.
Sources have told MARCA that the project was put on ice after Marcelino‘s dismissal and the subsequent crisis that engulfed the club, which hasn’t been ruled out.
