Barcelona Todibo is set to start alongside Pique
Barcelona take on Sevilla on Sunday night and they do so with some absences in central defence as Clement Lenglet is suspended and Samuel Umtiti is out injured.
This means that Gerard Pique will likely be accompanied by 19-year-old Jean-Clair Todibo at the back, while 20-year-old B team player Ronald Araujo has been called up to the squad as well.
It’s not certain that Todibo will play in a central defensive duo with Pique for the first time in this game, as there are other options too like Frenkie de Jong, Nelson Semedo and Sergi Roberto.
At left-back, the situation is clearer than it was a few days ago as Jordi Alba has recovered from an injury and makes the squad, which is welcome for Barcelona since Junior Firpo is still out injured.
Up front, Lionel Messi is set for a start after returning from injury and impressing in midweek against Inter and he’ll be taking on the team he has scored the most goals against in his career, with 36.
Sevilla have an almost complete squad available for this challenge as Daniel Carrico has returned from injury.
The only player missing in the Sevilla ranks will be Sergi Gomez.
