Barcelona vs Inter Dembele on the bench
Barcelona will host Inter at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night and there has been one surprise in Ernesto Valverde‘s line-up, with Lionel Messi starting after recovering from the knock he picked up against Villarreal.
Ousmane Dembele was also included in the matchday squad, with the Frenchman having pulled out of the squad to face Getafe on Saturday just hours before kick-off with discomfort.
Valverde‘s side come into the Inter game amidst an institutional crisis, with Gerard Pique sending a strong message to the board after the win at Getafe, and despite the relatively decent results against Borussia Dortmund, Villarreal and Getafe, they will be determined to respond with a good performance on Wednesday night.
The last-minute injury to Junior Firpo complicates matters for Valverde as he has had to play someone out of position, with Nelson Semedo filling in.
Inter, meanwhile, are now led by Antonio Conte and have thrived from day one in Serie A, winning all of their games, but they slipped up in the Champions League, drawing 1-1 at home to Slavia Prague on matchday one.
