Barcelona paid out 92 million euros in bonuses and add-ons last season

Barcelona Won LaLiga Santander and Supercopa

Barcelona paid out 92 million euros in bonuses and add-ons to their players for their successes in LaLiga Santander and the Supercopa De Espana last season.

In total, the Catalan club spent 525 million euros on player and coach wages last season, with 417 million of that going to the players.

Barcelona‘s salary spending is one of the major problems at the club and the budget that was approved by their members on Sunday is expected to include a reduction in wages.

Last season, Barcelona spent a total of 671 million euros on wages and amortisations. This season, that figure is expected to fall to 642 million with a three percent decrease in wages and a seven percent decrease in amortisations.

In order to make new signings, the Barcelona board know they must shift some of their highest earners, which is why the likes of Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele and Samuel Umtiti were sounded out for exits this summer.
