Real Madrid and Barcelona have already discussed a new date for their Clasico meeting at the Camp Nou, with December 18 looking the likeliest.

The Competition Committee announced on Friday morning that the set date of October 26 would not go ahead due to the current situation in Catalonia, leaving the clubs to agree upon a new date that suited them both.

LaLiga proposed Saturday, December 7, but that was quickly rejected as a number of games would have needed moving to accommodate it.

LaLiga themselves aren’t overly pleased by the December 18 arrangement, with it being a Wednesday, but the clubs see it as the best possible time to play the game.

Every postponed game from the first round of fixtures has to be arranged for before January 17.

On top of the fans who had made plans for the October 26 game, problems will arise with television broadcasts as well, as a Wednesday night game won’t reach the same audience as a weekend fixture.
