Real Madrid Not happy with former teams
Radomir Antic has claimed that each of Spain’s big three teams are not playing to level expected of them this season.
Antic is the only coach in history to take charge of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid and he’s been speaking to calciomercato.it about Spanish football.
“Barcelona aren’t having their best moment, both in terms of playing style and results,” he said.
“There are various absences and it’s notable.
“The win against Getafe came more from circumstance that from good football.
“Barcelona aren’t dominating, they don’t have a clear style of play and, furthermore, they have to deal with the controversy of [Gerard] Pique‘s comments.”
Barcelona are currently two points behind Real Madrid at the top of LaLiga Santander and one behind third-placed Atletico.
“Los Blancos don’t have authority on the pitch, they almost never dominate,” Antic said.
Eden Hazard‘s slow start to life in LaLiga Santander has become a concern for Madrid fans and Antic is also disappointed with the Belgian.
“He’s not doing what was expected of him, although it’s true that he needs time to recover his form,” he said.
Both Real Madrid and Atletico played out a dull 0-0 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday and Antic wasn’t impressed.
“Those that like football can’t have been satisfied with the show they put on during the derby at the Wanda Metropolitano,” he said.
“Both teams have pretty much lost their goal threat, the football that they’re playing is far below the expectations that came with the summer signings.
“[For Atletico] staying first and second in the table, winning games by just one goal, just doesn’t convince me.”
