Real Madrid Another headache for Zidane
Toni Kroos started Real Madrid‘s Saturday’s meeting with Granada in good form, spreading the ball around nicely, yet the German was forced off the pitch through an adductor injury, with Zinedine Zidane being given yet another selection headache.
The French coach has seen 13 players go down with injuries since the beginning of pre-season, and Kroos is merely the latest as the former Bayern Munich midfielder was only able to get through 33 minutes of play.
This, though, may have been on the cards when you consider how Kroos has only missed eight minutes of football in all competitions this season, being Zidane‘s most trusted player this term.
He had racked up 835 minutes this term, prior to being withdrawn on Saturday, and it’s unclear just how long he will be absent.
It’s especially troubling for Zidane, who doesn’t have any real natural replacements for either Casemiro or the German.
Having been selected by Joachim Loew to represent Germany in the upcoming international break, it now may well be the case that Kroos needs to be withdrawn.
