Sometimes an international break has its advantages for the La Liga Santander champions.

With only a select few called up to the national side, Barcelona can rehabilitate the current players on the treatment table.

Since the beginning of the season, several players have already received injuries, meaning Ernesto Valverde has had to improvise on the sidelines.

Four players are out of the first team squad; which includes Junior Firpo, Ansu Fati, Jordi Alba and Samuel Umtiti.

With the exception of Umtiti, it seems that everyone could be available after the break.

Nevertheless, Barcelona has yet to give Junior a timeframe to return after suffering a hamstring injury.

Alba is expected to return next week, so the Spanish international will be a welcome addition back in the squad.

The convenient return of talisman Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele couldn’t come at a better time.

Luis Suarez will miss international duty with Uruguay to receive treatment.

Meanwhile, Umtiti has been set a target of the first derby against Real Madrid on October 26.
